Jayde Duranleau, McLeod Lake First Nation
Jayde is currently the Female Youth Representative for the BC Assembly of First Nations and is running for re-election. She has been the youth councillor for the McLeod Lake Indian Band since 2017. Prior to becoming a councillor, she worked as the community’s archivist which gave her an appreciation of the importance of her history and culture. She also sits on the board of Tse’khene Community Development Corporation which encourages community enhancement and growth.
Jayde works hard to better her community and is passionate about her language, culture and education.
The BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) will be hosting the 17th Annual General Meeting on November 17 & 18th, 2020 via Zoom. At this Annual General Meeting, the BCAFN will be holding online elections for:
- Regional Chief of British Columbia – 3 year term
- BCAFN Board Director Member – 3 year term
- BCAFN Board Director Member – 3 year term
- BCAFN Female Youth Representative – 3 year term
