Presenter: Bobbi Plecas, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy
The B.C. government is developing a strategy for a clean future and has been reaching out to First Nations communities to begin a conversation and longer-term collaboration towards this important goal.
As part of this process, you and your staff are invited to participate in a webinar that they are hosting, entitled “Towards a Clean Growth Future.” This webinar follows what was to have been an in-person presentation at the BC Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assembly last month. Unfortunately, the speaker was unable to attend due to weather.

The webinar offers an opportunity to discuss building a cleaner economy in B.C. Government will provide a brief overview on their proposed direction, including upcoming engagement opportunities, and would like to hear more from participants about Indigenous’ learnings, ideas and priorities for sustainable economic growth and preparing for climate change.
The initial phase of the B.C.’s government strategy is planned for release later this year. It brings together BC’s action on climate change and clean energy to drive sustainable economies and healthy communities across the province. There will be ongoing opportunities to participate next year. Further background information is available here.
