The BC Assembly of First Nations (BC AFN) is proud to be hosting the upcoming AFN Annual General Assembly (AGA) that will be held from July 24th-26th in Vancouver, BC, the traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-waututh First Nations. July 23: Official Welcome Reception
The Welcome Reception is available for all delegates the evening of Monday, July 23rd before the start of the Annual General Assembly. Delegates and guests will be welcomed by Coast Salish First Nations and the experience will include dancing and singing showcasing First Nations culture as well as Indigenous cuisine. This event will provide an excellent opportunity to relax and reconnect with old friends or make new ones before the work of the General Assembly begins.
July 24: Night Out at River Rock
This off-site social night is open for all delegates, held at the River Rock Casino on Tuesday, July 24th in the Showroom Theatre. Located on the traditional territory of the Musqueam First Nation, the River Rock Casino is conveniently located 15 minutes away from the Convention Centre on the Canada Line Skytrain. This will be a fun-filled, high-energy evening of dancing and contemporary live music, which will feature Tewanee Joseph’s local rock band Bitterly Divine and other local performers. This event includes a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.
July 25: Gala Evening
The highlight of the BC AFN’s Social and Cultural Program will be a special evening of celebration in honour of the newly elected National Chief. The evening will begin with a networking reception at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, followed by dinner and a fashion show featuring clothing from prominent Indigenous designers. Dinner and fashion show will be followed by live performances from Juno award winner Murray Porter, hip-hop DJ O Show and more. Early Bird pricing is now available at https://afngala.eventbrite.ca.
